Well, I'm bored-although there're at least 5 of you online at the mo using MSN messenger..I'll pop into the chat room in a mo, as I don't think I can hold 5 conversations using messenger at once!Anyway, thought I'd tell you about a friend of mine. At the weekend she was initiated into a coven..this happened in a church, during visiting hours, in London and it was full of tourists. IMHO they were taking a huge risk performing the ritual in this place, but despite it being a church now it's a very old building with an amazing history...essentially it was used by the Knights Templar. (Believe me, I would so love to tell you all the full details, but alas cannot for fear of disclosing too much info.)
Anyway, they formed a circle, and began an initiation..at this point, some curious tourists began to move forward. My friend spotted this and became awre that the tourists didn't appear to be coming too close to the circle, or at least it seemed that they couldn't! Anyway, she was paying too much attention to that and not to the ceremony, so she concentrated her efforts. they raised a phenomenal amount of power, and it wasn't until after that a few other individuals acknowledged what she had thought, that the tourists could not move any nearer-they were literally being held back from the circle.
Blimey! She's coming up on Wednesday for a natter- I'll find some more tidbits and let you guys know if you're interested.
What I will say is this particular coven, as such, is not wiccan, but is neo-pagan. However, it's ideals and emphasis is very different to the general concencus of opinion on here. I tink I have done a few spelling errors in that last sentence..apologies!

have you read the bit in to stir a magic cauldron about circles, there is an anecdote about a witch in a new town who invited the sherriff to watch the ritual to dispel myths, the sheriff claimed that it all went fuzzy after the circle was cast and he couldnt see anything.
