...just wanted to share this:

the person who wrote this is no longer with us, and although I didn't know Mikki personally (s)he is an inspiration to be whatever you have to be - be true to yourself. When I need it I draw strength from this poem. I didn't even know this person but they made a difference to my life... don't know about you, but I find that amazing. (Incidently, I haven't read it for a good few months, infact it got wiped from my comp... anyway for some reason I really needed to read it yesterday, so I tracked it down... and discovered that tomorrow is the anniversary of her death...). ~shades~

In memory...

Do not let your fire go out,
spark by irreplaceable spark,
in the hopeless swamps of
the approximate,
the not-quite,
the not-yet,
the not-at-all.

Do not let the goddess in your soul perish,
in lonely frustration for the incarnation you deserved,
but, as yet, have not been able to perfect.

Check your road and the nature of your struggle.
The perfection of consciousness can be attained,
It is within you, it exists, it is real, it's yours.

Mikki Lawson (1948 - 1997)
