We've got a thread about cures for insomnia....
But what about staying awake?....is there anything out there (preferably
herbal type things) that gives you energy & stops you falling asleep
on your revising?!! (already tried pro-plus!)
Preferably that doesn't raise your blood pressure...I've had a verbal
slapping from the doctor...she says I'm too stressed & should relax...but
it's not that easy is it?!
I need energy,in a legal form if possible!!
Any ideas???
Dionne

Hi Dionne,
Whilst at work I drink fruit teas, (though stay away from Chamomile
as it is supposed to relax you) they dont have caffine in but some of
them are good. I especially recommend Rosehip (from Sainsbury's) it
says on the front 'Reviving & Invigorating' and it tastes gorgeous.
They have no other ingredience so you can drink as many cups as you
feel you need, and some people prefer it chilled instead of hot, which
could help to keep you awake.
I too would be interrested in any one elses suggestions though as i
have particular difficulty straight after lunch, I am sure I should
be living in a hot country where we get to have a sleep after lunch

If it's concentration you need help with, you could try gingko biloba
in the form of tablets/capsules, but it'll take a while to kick in.
You could also try biting your lip or pressing your nails into your
hands!:)

Sex is good...but not much use during the week, when you only get to
see your bloke at the weekend!
I got some rosehip tea today...so I'll give that a go..
As for the biting lip thing & digging nails into hands...eeeek ...I'd

Eat a banana within 20 minutes of getting up in the morning. That should
keep your energy levels up for the day :)
Take care,

Remember you need sleep to learn and put the days knowledge in balance!

I get plenty of sleep...& I'm fine most of the time...wide awake!..
It's just when I start revising or doing college work...it seems to
put me to sleep (can't think why!)
I'm going to have a bash at the tranquility tea suggested by Kash in
the insomnia message..for "chill out" times...then the doc
can't shout at me for not chillin! hehe
Thanks for all suggesions so far....keep em coming...I'll probably have
a cupboard full of herby teas by the end of it!

Hi there everyone!
I'm kinda (well very) new to this site! But one thing to do to help
you stay awake, and aid concentration is to burn citrus oils while studying
(pure essential oils of course). They're very good at pepping you up!

You could try exercise. If you're studying hard and don't have much
time to exercise physically your energy levels will deplete. So try
a bit of strenuous exercise either first thing in the morning or last
thing at night, this really helps your energy to increase.

Hi!
I use ylang-ylang or peppermint essential oil.....vapourize it! (And
I always find chain smoking and coffee helps too tho' )

I've been told, I'd never touch the stuff..me...no, never!)
